Here's a small selection from Book 5: Assault on Reignhold...

" Screams and shouts echoed through the night like haunted cries.
The street ended at a wide square where another monolithic statue of the God-King stood. Underneath it, a small army of scattered Black Coats ran about like rats, screaming and trying in vain to block the fierce men that attacked them.
He leaped up to the God-King's stone pedestal and jumped again with a furious shout, plunging into the last knot of Black Coats. Spinning both swords, he felt the blades cut through the armor jackets, slice across unshielded faces. The men dropped back a step, caught in a moment of shock. As Zensor lifted his weapons to attack again, the Black Coats scattered. He hacked both swords into one retreating man's back, then turned and sliced another across the back of his shoulders. He jumped and kicked one man to the ground as he ran, then plunged his sword into his back.
Circling around once, Zensor saw only black-coated corpses sprawled at the foot of the God-King. Blue-green lamps flickered around the square, lighting on the blood oozing into the puddles like ink. It looked almost like a dream, or perhaps a fantasy, and Zensor felt a strange sense of unknown familiarity shiver up his spine.
Destiny, a voice whispered. Zensor spun around, but saw only lines of dead bodies behind him. Swallowing, he slowly raised his head to look up at the statue of the God-King. It seemed, for an insane instant, that the statue had spoken.
Where are you now, God-King? He turned back slowly, drawing a deep breath to quell the anticipation coursing through his heart. I am coming for you. "
